Silent screams pierce a community
Lives explode with common pain
Oft sorrow gives rise to unity
Humanity, the enemy is not
Unsafe behind the locked door
Surrounded by intruding fear
Violence feels far, easy to ignore
Ignorance is not what it once was
Rivers of pain into hatred flow
Broken homes and tears of blood
Staying is dying so masses go
United into an unknown of hope
Life is a common right, like death
To give and take, a sacred act
So make it last and count each breath
The wind that comes, we can't forget
Lives explode with common pain
Oft sorrow gives rise to unity
Humanity, the enemy is not
Unsafe behind the locked door
Surrounded by intruding fear
Violence feels far, easy to ignore
Ignorance is not what it once was
Rivers of pain into hatred flow
Broken homes and tears of blood
Staying is dying so masses go
United into an unknown of hope
Life is a common right, like death
To give and take, a sacred act
So make it last and count each breath
The wind that comes, we can't forget
