  • Woven Threads

    Alone I sit
    With thread in hand
    It's tangled
    Knotted
    Nothing grand

    You come by
    With thread in hand
    It's matted
    Twisted
    A lonely strand

    You sit down
    Our threads we share
    We weave
    in vain
    Can't braid a pair

    Another comes
    He adds his string
    A braid
    emerges
    A pretty thing

    More walk by
    They add their strands
    We weave
    We knot
    Something grand

    I stand up
    See what we made
    I sit
    I cry
    A tangled braid

    They come and look
    They comfort me
    They turn
    Our braid
    Tell me to see

    I look up
    I laugh with glee
    My thread
    Our braid
    A tapestry

I can see this being acted out -- perhaps by teenagers! Seemingly true and simply divine!

Thank you! I agree, I think this poem could be beautifully acted out!

It never ceases to amaze me what we can make when we work together!
