    Euthanasia

    We feel uncomfortable
    with the smells of death.
    Her cancer seeped
    into my thoughts
    "This could be me."
    Is this suicide?
    She replied, "I don't
    want to die. I want
    to live, but I'm dying."
    Another woman with her
    same prognosis begged
    her to choose life--
    "Squeeze out every single
    precious moment that
    you can."
    In the end she chose
    death in the loving arms
    of her husband. A prescribed
    concoction of drugs blew
    out the curling, dancing light
    of a scented candle.
"To die with dignity". . .
    I don't know if I agree,
    but for Brittany, I lit
    a candle. In its flickering
    I envisioned her letting go
    and flying.

Interesting, appears personal. Rough choice to make. Making choice that you really don't want to take are the toughest.

It's difficult to make such a choice for one's self, let alone for another. We faced this challenge with our first born 38 years ago and have had an angel by our sides ever since.
