    Deuce by Venus Connelly

Your generosity turned quickly into an atrocity
I can’t believe one man can have so much animosity
I thought you a genteel, a man with such appeal
But you had some things to conceal
You led me to dream to the extreme
Turned out to be a big scheme
You promised your heart and a fresh start
But you just took me apart
Why would you convey such a display
When all along it was just a portray
I’ll admit you acted as if you just fit
Then without warning you just split
Did you find something wrong or feel you didn’t belong
Or was this your plan all along
Made us swore we found what we were looking for
Then little by little start to ignore
We just wanted you a part of our wonder
Then you just tore us asunder
You seemed so giving and made life worth living
And without a caution you became unforgiving
For a while you always showed up with a smile
And in a flash you became so vile
At first you were so guiding and providing
Before we could blink you were dividing
You seemed so well versed and we thought it unrehearsed
In a breath you made us feel cursed
I hope where ever you went you are content
And bring or suffer no more torment

Although it may seem counter-intuitive, oftentimes less is more.
