    Feigning, by Venus Connelly
    I cut myself again today
Just sat and watched the spray
And back in the tub I lay
Open my eyes never again I pray
At least this image of myself I wish I’d slay
Sometimes I feel like Ms. Thing
    I have a step like a spring
    Shinning like a diamond ring
And my hair has a certain swing
The next day I feel grotesque
Like I cannot move from this black desk
    I feverishly write cometbus-esque
    Sadly it sarcastically turns burlesque
I want to be stable always on an even keel
But I’ve been handed a faltered deal
Though I wish I could conceal
I am on a continuous wheel
I am out of my mind
    Mostly confined
    With thoughts so intertwined
    And disinclined
I think of courage to face even my reflection
    Embracing my own imperfection
    But my introspection
    Always turns to ejection
    This slice
    So precise
    A rhetorical device
    To dispose my excise
    My smiling
    For your benefit compiling
