The Devil Almost Took it All, by Venus Connelly

    Bled myself out
    Got out a good shout
    Today I refuse to pout
I am done giving my all
But I learned from this fall
    Don’t bother to call
The blood on the floor will dry
And today I will not cry
    Because you never did try
    Don’t look back
I am on a new track
Your lies are added to the stack
    I am cold and numb
Feel as small as a crumb
But that’s not what I’ll become
    I’ll get well
And never again buy what you sell
Determined to climb out of this hell
    You’ll see me again
I’ll be out of this bullpen
    AMEN
    You took so many pieces
    Left so many bruises
    All for the muses
    Your loss
    For giving me the toss
But I am saved by the cross
