I've Got A Good Face For Radio.

I am the late night D.J.
in the wee hours of the morn,
playing songs for all those sleepless souls.
who are lonely and forlorn,
they all call me up to hear a tune
from the days when they were loved,
just to take a walk down memory's lanes
with someone they're still dreaming of......

There's no spinning records anymore,
it's all been computerized.
I used to get some exercise,
but modern times have compromised,

with a job that leaves me bored to tears,
till I reach commercial breaks,
then it's coffee to keep me awake,
dealing with my own heartaches.

Chorus-

Playing just a few songs I love so,
shared with one sweet girl I used to know,
cause I've got a face for radio,
I'm no Don Juan that's for sure,
and I wonder if she sits somewhere,
listening to my show playing on the air,

does she lie awake whispering a prayer,
for some love to bring a cure.......

I'm just therapy for the wanna-be's
who are hungry for romance,
hugging pillows as they twirl around,

empty rooms in solo dance.

Till they here my voice in soothing tones,
granting them some conversations,
but there's no one there when I get home,
I'm denied listener's salvation.

Chorus-

So I play a few songs I love so,
shared with one sweet girl I used to know,
cause I've got a face for radio,
I'm no Don Juan that's for sure,
and I wonder if she sits somewhere,
listening to my show playing on the air,

does she lie awake whispering a prayer,
for some love to bring a cure.......

Then it's off to bed, miles of empty sheets,
cause that late shift's coming and I'm beat,
I'll be back in 12 more hours to greet,
all those lonely souls like me.........
I'll be back in 12 more hours to greet,

all those lonely souls like me....
on...... W .....O..... -N...... -E........
