POEM # 340
A DAY IS A DAY
A day is a day, until it's a week
Some days are short, some mild and meek.
Some days are long, some even say strong.
Which one do you think is right or wrong?
Days cost are high, teachers all agree,
No day is free, paid by you and me.
Teachers days are filled fall to spring,
Students listen for the bell to ring.
Out the window, see white fluff come down,
Almost a foot deep, snow covers the ground.
Old or young, shovels or sleds, tools of choice,
Everyone quiet, except children s high voice.
Announcement on TV, a bottom line blurb to see,
Schools are closed, teachers smile, the day is free.
