    POEM # 325

    SECRETS OF LIFE TO LEARN
    Beasts of the field,
    Strength they do wield.
    Human male born a brute,
    Ruling voice never mute.
    Are animals part of us?
    Life's secrets should we discuss?
Do animals live with a soul?
    Their thoughts can they control?
    Our image came from dust,
    Return by way of rust.
Is not our breath the same?
From the earth we both came.
Time kills the air we breathe,
Death by the sun so seethe.
    Before we shall return,
    Secrets of life to learn.
