  • I Remember India

I remember India How the heat, the sweets and spices filled the air I remember India Elephant trunks, tiger tails, monkeys everywhere I remember India The Taj Mahal aglow Their LOVE that never died Soaring Himalayan hills of moonlit butterflies I remember India From all the tales my mother told Climbing mountains, forging rivers The crocodile toe She gave to me a front row seat Her panoramic view Ahh, the women draped in saris Cumin yellow, Turquoise blue All the people and the places She returned a lot of smiles Nagaland to New Delhi Every Rajasthani mile.

The original post had multiple unintentional asterisks which seemed to appear at random. I am unable to delete this post for some reason. I will resubmit this poem. Hopefully no asterisks will appear.
