    Through a Child's Eyes

    Dear God:
Daddy has been home this whole week, it’s weird he doesn’t leave everyday
I like seeing him more it makes me happy I wish he could stay here forever
And it’s good that I see him praying to You more, thank You for my daddy
Your son: Daniel, in Jesus name, Amen
    Dear God:
I’m excited for my seventh birthday this week, it’s on saturday so no school!
Daddy is always home but Mommy is gone more; they’re looking for something
They both are, and I don’t know what it is but they don’t ever say that they found it
Anyway, God, please bless my parent’s searching and my birthday in a few days
Your son: Daniel, in Jesus name, Amen
    Dear God:
Why didn’t I get any gifts this year? I just wanted a star wars lego set
Mommy told me not to be mad at You but I don’t think I asked for that much
Did I do something wrong? Are You mad at me for something, God?
My mommy also told me You have a plan for everything so I need to trust
So I’ll listen to her and trust in You, God, I always have next year right?
Your son still: Daniel, in Jesus name, Amen
    Dear God:
I saw my Daddy crying today, when I asked him why, he did it more
My Mommy said he was just sad but they talked a lot after I walked away
I could see them, I don’t understand, why was Daddy crying, God? Why?
He didn’t do anything bad why is he sad? Please can you make it better?
I Thought You weren’t supposed to allow bad things to happen if we prayed?
I don’t know what happened to Daddy that made him cry but please help him
Your son: Daniel, in Jesus name, Amen
    Dear God:
I’m so hungry everyday, my mom barely packs anything in my lunch anymore
And when I get home most of the time we only have bread for our dinner
I can’t remember the last time that we went out to eat even at Mcdonald’s
I also think that someone stole our big tv but I’ve been too afraid to ask
Mom has started wearing more makeup, she always has dark circles by her eyes
Lately I’ve been spending more time at my grandparent’s house after school
I miss mommy and daddy, I just want to go home, what’s going on, God?
Your son: Daniel, in Jesus name, Amen
    Dear God:
I’m so mad, all the kids keep making fun of what I wear when I go to school
Mommy says I look cool when she dresses me even though I only have a few outfits
The only times I see her is in the mornings when she dresses me before I leave
And when she’s at the kitchen table writing on a giant stack of papers
Well the good news is we get Mcdonald’s again, daddy really likes their food
He likes them so much he dresses up when he goes to get it, he even has a hat!
Please, God, can I have some new clothes so the kids at school won’t make fun of me?
Also help mommy get through her big stack of paper, it really seems to make her sad
Your son: Daniel, in Jesus name, Amen
    Dear God:
Why God? Why do we have to leave our house? I really like our house even if it’s small
These strange men in matching suits keep coming into our house and taking our stuff
There’s a sign on our lawn that spelled four wrong and the four closed something
Daddy told me that we were going to stay with my grandparents for a while
Mommy was crying the whole time that daddy was telling me what we were doing
I don’t know why we have to leave and I’m not happy but mommy told me something before
She said to trust You and that You have a perfect plan and that it will all work out
So, God, I’m going to do that even though I don’t know what’s going on, oh I hear daddy
I’m gonna have to go, God, I love you...why are you crying daddy?
Your son forever: Daniel, in Jesus name, Amen
    Dear God:
Thank You for everything that You have given to my family, even if it isn’t much, thank You
Thank You for loving parents that will always be there for me and my family
Thank You for the years that we had in that house, it truly was a great home
Sometimes we don’t understand Your will, God, but we must trust Your perfect plan
Sometimes we don’t understand the situations going on, but we must trust You
Sometimes we try to our own plans and when it doesn’t work out we get mad at You
Since we moved out everyone seems much happier and there are fewer tears
I really can’t thank You enough, God, You kept this family together when it was breaking
Most of all I want to thank You for my wonderful son who never lost faith in You
My son who even when we could give him nothing, gave all he had to You, Thank You, God.
Your son: Michael, in Jesus name, Amen
