I’ve had a lifelong love affair

So connected as to be
A single mingled melody
A love so strong
A love so long
A love so certain and so true
A love that’s always old and new
A love that sings
A love that brings
A sweet release
A sense of peace
A love imbibed in mother's milk
That's warm as sun and smooth as silk
A love passed on by father’s hand
A love that helps me understand
A love that fills with poetry
A love of you, a love of me
An intimate, passionate love affair
As natural as breathing air
Withstanding all the winds of time
