    What’s love for one
    Isn’t love for all
    And does not mean
    To just have a ball
    But pick up when
    You slip and fall
    Nor just stop when
    You’ve hit a wall

This poem is thought-provoking. However, I feel as though my feelings aren't agreeing to what your poem seems to be stating, and that is that marriage after 33 years is not a marriage that is joyous but it is from "total desperation", a time of submission, and grim. I have known many elderly couples that have been married for over 33 years who are still very much in love since the very beginning.

    Marriage

    The secret after 33 years
is forgetting what's right and fair
and not holding back the tears
and learning how not to care
    because a long-lasting marriage
    is never rhyme or reason
    what it really depends on
    is total desperation
