  • This Place I Call Home

I see beyond what the government wants you to see
Past the green grass and daffodils into the eyes of death
Past the fake smiles of a con man into the strong hold of racism
I see beyond the good of a citizen into the grip of meth
This is the place I call home, it's Muncie

I hear the sirens of police and change dinging in the pocket of a robber
The sounds of hungry veterans in abandon homes
Denied services for lost of ID
This is the place I call home, it's Muncie

I smell the gasoline used in construction of jobs
And the destruction of buildings but no help for the homeless
I smell the savory steaks used to rob wallets
But no help for the kids who's only meal is at school
This is the place I call home, it's Muncie

I feel for the blind and for the victims who suffer from the bitterness
I feel for those who are bullied but have no self confidence
I feel the icy winds that come with the hits of a cold heart
This is the place I call home, it's Muncie

I taste my blood from the blows of words used in a way that is unjust
I see people begging for change
I smell the burning of money in pockets
I hear the no ending sounds of help
    I feel for the innocent
This is the place I call home, it's Muncie
This place I call home is a world few are understanding
