A drop of clear salty liquid secreted from glands in a person's eye when they cry or when the eye is irritated
Scientifically that's all a tear is
But tears are more than that
They may only be saltwater
But whenever they cascade down my cheeks
They feel like acid
But acid that doesn't stop at burning my skin
Tears burn away at my very soul
They turn me weak
Tears make me seem helpless
I don't want to be a damsel in distress
But whenever I cry that's what I become
It's a complete transformation in the eyes of people I know
Because a tear isn't just a tear
It's a reason
Usually more than one
Because when a person cries they are saying they've had enough pain
Different people may have different loads they can carry
But everyone has a point where it's just enough
And whether physical or emotional
Most people do not wish to see another human in pain
They want to fix it
They want to make people stop crying
But when people try to see me as needing their help
Whether I do or not
All I say is:
A tear is nothing but a drop of clear salty liquid secreted from glands in a person's eye when they cry or when the eye is irritated
Even though I know that isn't true
