Why is this happening and why must I choose
which parent to live with and which to refuse?

Divorce is your answer but what about me?
Why can’t you stay married and just disagree?

My best friend at school has only his dad.
He says it’s Ok, but I know he feels sad.

I’ll study real hard and do all my chores.
You won’t have to ask, I’ll even do yours.

When I hear you both shouting as I lay in my bed,
I pull hard on the covers way over my head.

Then I sob in my pillow and silently pray:
“Please God, heal our family,
and make them both stay.”

That is a perfect expression of the child's point of view. Great job! What a horrible situation to put your children through. So sad to think about. Glad I was one of the lucky ones who's parents were happy and stayed together. So far my wife and I have been able to give our children that same gift. Nothing is more important than your family and once you realize that it is easy to find solutions to all the little problems that split other families apart. Thanks so much for sharing this Donald.
