    Understanding Loss

My arms still hold the memory
    Of hugging you tight
My lips still feel the tingle
    That your kisses excite
    I still smell the fragrance
    Of your soft perfume
    Each time I come home
    And enter our room
Memories of the love we shared
    Still fill my dreams
Then I wake up in agony
    Wanting to scream
Once again it hits me and
    I melt inside
The night that you were taken
    Part of me died

    I’d offer all I have
    For another minute with you
Just to kiss and hold you close
    A or moment two
    Whispering sweet nothings into
    Each other’s eyes
    Cuddled close together till
    The sun fills the sky

Speak again the words I cried
    As you slipped away
    Whispering my love for you
    Pleading you stay
I held you for oh so long
    I couldn’t let go
So much more I’d wished to say
    To have you know
Now every time I think of you
    My head starts to spin
Wishing you were in my arms
    Chin to chin
    Whispering sweet nothings into
    Each other’s eyes
    Cuddling close together till
    The sun fills the sky

    I’d offer all I have
    For another minute with you
Just to kiss and hold you close
    A moment or two
    Whispering sweet nothings into
    Each other’s eyes
    Cuddled close together till
    The sun fills the sky

My arms so miss the feeling
    Of hugging you tight
My lips still want the tingle
    Your kisses excite
    Once again it hits me
    And I melt inside
The night that you were taken
    A part of me died

    I’d offer all I have
    For another minute with you
Just to kiss and hold you close
    A moment or two
    Whispering sweet nothings into
    Each other’s eyes
    Cuddled close together till
    The sun fills the sky
