  • UNDERSTANDING: JUDGE YE NOT

    Every Saint has a Past...
    Every Sinner has a Future

I was shocked.. confused... and bewildered
    As I entered Heaven's Door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
Nor the lights or it's decor

But it was the folks in Heaven
Who made me sputter and gasp...
The thieves, the liars, the sinners,
    The alcoholics and the trash.

There stood the kid from seventh grade
Who swiped my lunch money twice.
Next to him was my old neighbor
    Who never said anything nice.

    Bob, who I always thought
    Was rotting away in hell,
Was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
    Looking incredibly well.

    I nudged Jesus, " What's the deal?"
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must' have made a mistake.

And why is everyone so quiet,
So somber... give me a clue.
    Hush... child, He said,
    They're all in shock.
No one thought they'd be seeing you.

    ... So Judge Ye Not...

I really enjoyed reading your poem, Eugene. My husband and I have a street front ministry church that takes care of alcoholics, drug addicts and homeless children. You are right. We really can't judge a person from the outside. God bless you.

Thank You for your kind words and encouragement. we can become blind by seeing each day as a similar one. each day is a different one, each day brings a miracle of its own. It's just a matter of paying attention to this miracle. May God Bless You and Guide You're Ministry for His Will. Sorry for such a late posting.

It was very lovely writing. I quite enjoyed it. And believe it be, judging one may lead to judgement of another.

Thank you...for your encouragement and enjoying my poem. If I may say ... the apostle Paul was beaten, imprisoned, and stoned but still wrote..."None of these things move me." Paul's faith maintained his footing. Like wise we should be.
      Working...
