I am substance
Proud of my own existence

I was made to last
But now I slowly shatter like glass
I was naive to think
That I can go on
For as long as I can imagine
Crumbling, falling apart
Until I'm gone

I feel that I'm on a mountain high
Pure solid state
But my soul is liquid
Slowly diminishing, who would've predicted?

Tearing myself down and memories with it
I stood long on this earth, but now my time has come
My body breaking down, and my soul within
I had endured
I had withstood
Every force and power so harsh and cruel
I was god
But now I'm nothing
My eventual demise, it was a long time coming​

This is a reference to a certain building material once used in schools and other buildings (known as RAAC), and that Britain is now having an issue of them crumbling down, putting lives at risk and memories potentially destroyed. It sounds like the whole asbestos scare all over again...
