Life of the planets at the bar

    Mars showed red
    Because Venus was high
    Shinning like a jewel
    In a summer night sky
    I watched her so closely
    Still being wise
    Mars with his warring
    Might be my demise
    I listened to music
    That played in my ears
    I listened to rumors
    At the bar drinking beers
    I listened and listened
    As everyone spoke
    Venus and Mars
    That affair aint no joke
    Suddenly seeing
    Out of the dark
    Jupiter glaring
    A bright welding spark
    Venus kept dancing
    With dazzle and flair
    Mars kept injecting
    His warrior stare
    Jove will not have it
    On his solemn watch
    Venus be golden
    Mars, kicked in the crotch
    Terra in terror
    Caught in the seam
    Drunk and in blue
    This must be a dream
    Mercury burning
    Maybe it seems
    The sun still had pity
    In its radiant streams
    Uranus is jealous
    And cold just the same
    With diamonds and rings
    Saturn, never feels shame
    Neptune is washed up
    An ice ocean of time
    fourteen moons to support
    feels like a crime

    I still had my glass
    I still had a beer
    I thought I had seen
    All the planets right here
    But Pluto The dwarf
    Seems I forgot
    Poor little bastard,
    At the bar,
    lost his spot

What fun to read! I was intrigued as I started reading this...wondering how you were going to bring seemingly disparate objects together (i.e planets and the bar)...and as always, TS, you did not disappoint! Great visuals for me as I read through this, even though the nightlife scene is something of my younger years. And Pluto - aww - poor Pluto - I laughed aloud, and am still smiling. Thanks for that!

      A Solar Tour de Force
      And yes, orbit uncleared,
      Pluto slighted to dwarf.

This was fun to read the way you used the planets to tell the tale. Great poem TS. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
