    Reign of the Eyeball

I reign as the eyeball. I’m bathed by tears.
Bright worlds I image for man’s mental gears
to churn the depths where creative fractions
give birth to ideas made whole by actions.

Glands in my eyelid above me squeeze
their salty flush that bathes me clean
of wind, of dust and dirt injections
each time I blink, each eye deflection.

Though hearty laughter, anger and grief
are emotions strong, they demand me release
those glands when swollen liquid filled
and erupt my tear gushing cascade spills
to carry those feelings that make hearts stop
to the exits of the Soul in each teardrop.

They empty the body taking laughter with pain,
love with anger and loss with gain
and the Spirit is lightened and finds its calm
    at the crossroad of tears where the blood slows down;
where the heart beats quiet, where the lungs breathe air,
where the Soul rests cleansed of its trembling cares

and the light through me brings a clarity of mind
where tomorrow sips Hope from the chalice of Time.
And I reign as the eyeball, the collector of light
and the ejector of tears in the day and the night.

"and the ejector of tears in the day and the night." -- i feel that. -- not as a sadness thing.. more of a ..

"and the Spirit is lightened and finds its calm" + "where the Soul rests cleansed of its trembling cares"

Johntee - "20-20 vision enchained in poetic precision". Whoa! That's heavy Johntee and I really liked that. Next time I write, I'm bringing my binoculars so I can see a little further......strictly for the precision of course. LOL. Glad you glanced an eyeball over this way J. Namyh

FixXxer - Every now and then, the poet needs to step out of the box to see perspectives not seen before and draw on strengths not drawn on before to write the words not written before and just maybe bring a vision not seen before. Thanks FixXxer for loving this from top to bottom. Makes an old scribbler proud! Namyh

One of my favorite lines from this wonderfully unique perspective! Nicely done.

Hope you are doing well, old poet friend! Good to see you posting more again.

Reign of the eyeball - so appropriate as we are all affected by what we take in.

Alexandra - We are indeed all affected by what we take in from what we feel, from what we hear and definitely from what we see. We poets are sponges who absorb it all and then wring it out in a poem. Hallelujah for that! I'm feeling better already. Thanks A. Real good to hear from ya. Namyh
