This is actually a reference to a popular Scottish comedy character during the 90s, by the name of Rab C. Nesbitt. In the eponymous sitcom series and in a sketch show before it, the character would break the fourth wall and talk random stuff and sometimes to do with the episode's plot. Usually I don't pay attention to it, not even when he tells insightful things whilst drunk (although it does add to the hilarity though).
