we all fall in the end
are things the same as they've always been?
do some of us just pretend?
did we stop trying to defend ... freedom?
I see them, control with capital.
    must they, have it all?

mother you drew our bath water
    from the common pound
    a note after exceptions
    the term paper grows faded
    same as us all

as they say love is war..

we witness grief on grandest scale
while hoping LOVE will soon prevail?

the darkness our lives that we call light
has love always been such a fight

Was there ever even a sound
before love was a battle ground

Are things the same as they have always been?
A moment in time or something more
Do we still believe? Do we still hope?
That we can find the answer in our hearts

    Write with Me

DepressingPoem We haven't done a collaborative poem in...well, since I can't remember when. Your recent posting "." gave me the inspiration.

One poet starts a poem and others jump in, through comments, copying lines already posted prior in the thread and adding their own creative flair.

Anybody game? I'll get us started...
    The World Today

Are things the same as they've always been?
    Confounding hearts of loving men...
who witness grief on grandest scale
while hoping LOVE will soon prevail?
