    Hear Ye?

Will you hear me when I speak? Here’s what I’ve discovered:
when I uncover what I seek, I cannot tell another.

Seeking truth, I hear the lies—I see the slight-of-hand.
Right before our very eyes, the traitors make their stand.

But lies, I now refrain to bait; deceit, I won’t expose.
I won’t fight manufactured hate, nor claim nobody knows—

to those among fraternity who must have gone astray,
who never in eternity will hear what I would say,

to those who’s senses—so obscured—defer to unknown hosts,
who might believe they’re almost cured when others like their posts,

who snuggle up their earmuffs to produce a better fit,
adjust their blinders just enough to block the light a bit,

then proceed to shout about the favored party line—
to sow the doubt, drown us out, and fully undermine

anyone who dares to hold an opposition view,
anyone who cares, who’s bold, who wants to think anew,

who’s willing to imagine from a place where power’s just—
not from where the shadows lurking towers serve their lust.

I wonder where you put your trust, within or in a State?
Has someone told you that you must? Who decides your fate?

A seeking, trying, prying sleuth may find a truth denied.
When lies believed subvert the truth, truly, truth has died.

For if I speak a painful truth, you’ll push me out the door,
but when you find my words were sooth, you’ll shun me even more.

Now, I won’t tell, so you won’t yell—with ammunition bare—
defending a decent to hell without a thought nor care.

No, you mustn’t ever hear—never search beyond.
Hold to what you’re told to cheer and revel in the bond.

This line I had to read twice to get the feel down.. I saw/felt it better when I imagined it like this:

to those who’s senses—so obscured—defer to unknown hosts,
who might believe--- they’re almost cured--- when others like their posts,

how do you feel about: switching the word believe to repent? (just sharing an idea. it's yours to use or not use as you wish)

Overall it flows well, and I like the message... I think hear ye.. Good work.. my favourite part:

I wonder where you put your trust, within or in a State?
Has someone told you that you must? Who decides your fate?

Thanks for your thoughts, FixXxer! Not sure about repent, but there might be a better word than believe. I think you must be in the UK to spell favorite favourite.

Canada my friend... but that's the word that threw me off the first time... my first thought was "repent this" as to try to rhyme with "senses"... but i'm not sure that fits the message very well
I'm not sure there's a better word than believe for what you're saying... maybe senses could be changed instead?

i thought it worked fine with a --- between the words "believe" and "they're" to slow the reading pace down for a second as well.
taking out the --- between "senses" and "so" would speed that line up a bit and have the same effect
