This is a poem I wrote for my daughter earlier this week

A rook with a book
Covets with a magpie look
The words of the story bound
Preloved and dog-eared found.
Daphne Du Maurier’s Birds
Overhead guls squawks are heard
Fowey imbued the loving spirit
Novel legacy we inherit
Rebecca you know
Too modest to crow
Jamaica is Inn
Repertoire no sin
A House on the strand
Frenchman’s Creek at hand
For a new generation
