  • A song

close to my heart there is a song
not one any you have sung along
it song of joy of peace and care
a song to reminde me love it there

a beat that makes the wind blush
the beat that calms you in a rush
and at my heart a beat to feel at peace
there is the beat to make wars cease

sung by a voice that crickets are quiet and tame
so much beauty it puts zhangye to shame
lovely and happy a voice of hope
sung by she who helpes me cope

a song I love and care for so
one that helps my happiness show
the song that helps me heal my soul
sung by a voice grate a dafo temple stroll

Oh, yeah, I swiped those lines straight from the poem (Coleridge's "Kubla Khan"). It's a great poem.

Like that DP. Have you thought of making your lines match the number of beats so it woul be more songlike in form?

Actually I didn't start poems to long ago maybe a week before I found this place but ya I should probably get over to doing that.
