  • Not My Happy Ending

    This is a story

    About a happy ending

Thoughts fly by, memories and tears dry

As his footsteps fade, our love hand made

His eyes, blue as the sky

    The sky that was ours

    Sadness, a virus

    Hope, a disease

My heart is now hollow, not even a breeze

    Choked up, as he leaves

The music is not a band-aid

    When love breaks

    It's not even

Cause the best part of me

    Was you

    It hurts

To say i want you still

    Its breaks me

    To say i need you

I find myself singing the blues

Yet i wake up with no one

And you wake up to him

This is not my happy ending.

This is expressive, and I liked how you ended it, with a sort of flat note, an unfortunate truth, a lament. One of the hardest things to take is that truth about love, if it can be gotten at all; but if it's not a happy ending maybe that means you know what one is! The happy ending came before the beginning? There are familiar feelings in this poem and I like the language you used... Sometimes you have just a way with words and a turn of phrase,

My heart is now hollow, not even a breeze
      Choked up, as he leaves
      and

Cause the best part of me
      Was you

I love the way these lines come off!
Sorry about the ending, .. maybe it's just a poem about feelings, I hope it's not real life happening!
