  • Sound and Vow

A ragin cage and foamin mouth
    Pacing both past and now
    Under cover of decency
    Erasing first common vow
Freedom? We all throw the term
Like bullets rip into a crowd
But never a word more beautiful
    Never a better sound

Through stone decrees and parchment tales
    Sew on shoulders high
    And Stamped upon silver shields
And smoke trails in the sky
Ships of the line with flags sail by
    Full cannons for freedoms bow
    Never a word more beautiful
    Never a better sound

    Twisted ideologies
To tear down all we see
Try to plant a new garden
But they know not how to weed.
Subtle hands and soft fallin rains
Guide growing both then and now
    Never a word more beautiful
    Never a better sound

    Removing oil, incense and wax
    With numbers, columns and rows
    Negotiations and community
    Replaced by yeses and nos
In yes and yo, all mercy slows
The past is the our destiny now
    Never a word more beautiful
    Never a better sound

The stone that was cast away
    Has become the corner stone
    Iconoclast idolators
    Make icons of their own
    Image, they deny and design,
And bury freedom deep in ground
But never a word more beautiful
    Never a better sound

    Blinded by ideologies
    Hurt by muted sounds
    A foundation soft, shallow, spare
    Shifting float and flowing ground
    Unmoored and all sails cut
You’re free, compass tossed over the bow
    Never a beauty more misunderstood
    Or a more forsaken vow

RhymeZone Forums was extremely important to me. When I joined the site – in April 2016 – I was truly humbled that so much talent would accept a Simple Rhymer. However, a few months ago I decided to pull away due to – what I felt – was an abundance of SPAM postings and comments.

Recently, I was asked to become a Moderator to assist the other Moderators – and Administrators - in combating these SPAM postings and comments. It was my honor to enthusiastically accept.

I pledge to take the time to review the site daily (multiple times) and take appropriate action when necessary. I thank you for your contributions, and if you are considering withdrawing your talents – or have already done so – I sincerely hope you will reconsider.

My email address is [email protected] if you have any concerns regarding material posted to RhymeZone Forums.
