  • Poor to Rich V.2.

This is new. A rewritten version of a 7th-grade poem I once wrote.

I am poor while he is rich
he looks down on me living in my ditch
I cry for any home whilst he bathes in money
Yet the rich man could not spare not even a penny
    On society is becoming
    In this world so numbing
Something has changed in his heart
Or am I just that quote on quote Smart
My home is the street and box with no locks
Yet all he can do is throw glares like rocks
    I wish he would stop
    I wish we could swap
    I am now him
    He is now me
We swapped places, in good time, I see
    He got laid off
now I look at him and scoff
    I'll give him my all
Even if it means Ill fall
I give him my money to sleep behind closed doors
I know how it feels cause I was once poor

To give some insight into this. When I was in grade 7 I got really into writing poetry. This has helped me cope with a lot of things such as anxiety and depression. I am the person that is poor. not with money, but with everything that comes with being human. I am slowly discovering who I am and how that correlates into my writing. The rich man is a person I aspire to be while the weight of the world hurts my very existence. 4 years ago I was not fully able to understand what I was feeling and how I could change that. But with the help of everyone around me and distant. It was easier to embrace that I am no longer ashamed of who I am.

21feltsal , I'm sorry I've missed your earlier posts. A belated welcome to the zone. I think many poets here find writing to be therapeutic and we help each other to feel better too, many times. Keep up with writing and posting!

Really amazing, girl! I suppose that the difference between the rich people and the poor is so large

It is quite nice! Thanks for sharing this with the community. I've always wanted to go from rags to riches and one of the ways was trying casinos. I even learnt everything about one management team in order to become assured in the safety of one casino. I even composed a song (without lyrics though) about my attempts but it's a sad one.

RhymeZone Forums was extremely important to me. When I joined the site – in April 2016 – I was truly humbled that so much talent would accept a Simple Rhymer. However, a few months ago I decided to pull away due to – what I felt – was an abundance of SPAM postings and comments.

Recently, I was asked to become a Moderator to assist the other Moderators – and Administrators - in combating these SPAM postings and comments. It was my honor to enthusiastically accept.

I pledge to take the time to review the site daily (multiple times) and take appropriate action when necessary. I thank you for your contributions, and if you are considering withdrawing your talents – or have already done so – I sincerely hope you will reconsider.
