  • Her Young Lover

Just a note about a phenomenon happening where young men in their 20’s are dating and marrying women in their 40’s and this poem is about a friend of mine in her 40’s dating a young man in his 20’s. I wrote about some of her expressions hope you enjoy it.

    Her Young Lover

She became the blank canvas painted with your love
Your heart was the holy grail she had tried to find
Tender, lively so young and eager to respond
You saw not only her face but her heart and mind

“The years between us melted when you smiled at me
I could see my steel convictions starting to wane
There was such an innocent sensuality
Enveloping my heart, begging me to remain”

Desperately wanting to turn back the hands of time
Tears of frustration and hopelessness poured like rain
So she Whispered her secrets to the wind sublime
for she was old but he was only in his prime

Nice way you handle the subject matter. too bad we are attracted and chase relations that are not sustainable for long... Sad. The way you use your rhyme is nice and flows effortless. Do I detect an "anapestic rhythm"? xxX xxX xxX

I have mixed feelings about that and know such a relationship is not for me because of the practicalities you just mentioned. This phenomenon is strange but interesting.
