  • The Burden (It Follows Me Around)

As I live these darkest days
As I live this wretched life
    I feel something is still
    Holding on to me
Like if it was still alive
    With me

I don't take notice the first time
But this is the manifestation of a life
    That was needlessly wasted
Because I was cursed by fate
At first, there were dreams of suicide
But now it's become a part of me

    It follows me around
I carry the burden with me all the time
    It follows me around
Even if it presses tight against my heart
And no matter what I do, to surpress
Myself and the shadow, we can never part

    It follows me around...
    Everywhere I go

I am finding some similarities in theme in the poems posted. I found this one harder to relate to, because of the line "It follows me around"
The rest of the poem talks of it being carried, holding on and part of you. To me these two ideas are different.

Well, one's worries and trauma would be "following" them around, no matter how small or great they are. Even if said experience is shaken off, it will still be with that person for the rest of time. You get me now?
