  • Walk Again

    I went up the mountain
    Halfway up to progress
    While the ground is firm
    The air becomes much less

    I thought I would endure
    Whatever got to me
    Then tragedy soon befalls
    I'm down on my knees

As soon as I heard the crash
    So did the thought inside
    Chance of survival unknown
Will I live, or will I die?

    Lost in a remote spot
    No one there to assist
The pain may bring on an end
But I know I can resist

    With every step of patience
    I can walk again
    With every moment of time
    I can live again

    It might've been a mistake
    That I can't reverse
Lucky to be still in one piece
    It could've been far worse

They say that all good men
Come down in ashes, never to rise
Well I can prove them wrong
When I can reach newer heights

This is based on an accident that I had where I sustained a severe leg injury after a fall but had taken the time to heal from it, as what the entry tells about. Even though it happened over three years ago, it still haunts me to this day.

Thank you for sharing this it sounds horrific. I hope the poem proves cathartic. I hope that time is a healer proves to be true.

Well time was the healer at this point, as I only had muscular damage done. If I had broken my leg, things could've been much different, and the content of this would've been far more horrific. Thankfully, it didn't need to be.
