    NORTH OF THE BAY

    She breathed upon scarecrows
    And jackrabbits of Petaluma flew
    Cinder bridges of bays
    Pylons of graves
    Anywhere a schoolboy could
    Every cold island of seals
    Water of sharks churns inspiration
And her prison turns out stories of the shore
The motor between my legs took me to legends
The pictures of the honeymooners raise questions to this day
But the coast will always be her fence
Blue will always be the color of her end

The second This is beautiful! I love the vivid imagery used in this piece! This is one that is better appreciated when it is read aloud as opposed to being read silently. It takes on a totally new life when it it read aloud. The "She" in this piece could be the personification of Nature, The SF Bay itself or it could be an actual woman. My favorite line is: "The motor between my legs took me to legends" It begs the question(s): Motor between my legs? Hey? What's that all about? Lol!
