    DREAMS OF CALM

    A body of water, calm
    A fallen tree within
    Three Sparrows enter the stillness
    Three eagles emerge
    They perch in the fallen tree

    When the water is calm
    Why does a spirit break?
    And a dream will die

    Why do humans seek pride?
    Cage the little bird of sweet song
    Ruin love

    So many heads lost in the flight of unconsciousness
    But the stillness will always find those that prey
    And the bounty of replication will quell the whore’s throat
    The jettisoned will eventually find a shore or some earth

    Can the broken pray dreams of calm?

    The sweet song of ruined love,
    dark as wine gone past lips; for spoiling,
    the quail's egg, the chicken foot,
    the nest of the wild inside the void;
    a picture of me, a picture to hang;
    some deviant exposure, a ploy and plot
    that ends up in a big bang unrecalled;
    it's the senseless motion of love
    built into the mouth we used up
    on words we feel after we're gone.
    it's no excuse to anyone else
    the poetry isn't only ours,-- lips,
    tastes, hands, and the handwriting
    scrawled over the world, and no hand
    waits out there in the dark to hold.

    Or something like that? You inspire me.

    soul fettered fantasies
    belie unending truths
    of ceaseless time-turned
    relevé

    love cores its face
    between the beats of
    hearts and hands
    held ripe to know
