  • Equanimity

The heart must bleed before the seed

sees poetry's true bloom. My eye lights on

    "Collected Works," daedal Daemon

    eaten psyche of Anne Sexton's

    templed body reworked as tomb

cradled by rhyme no span of time

not verse nor obverse could contain

this life, refulgence in the rough set free

    to gainsay equanimity.

Wonderful weaving here JT. I'm not familiar with her works, but on reading up a little about her history, I'd say you hit a nail very neatly on its head with this!

I have a feeling amenOra referenced her in the past, before I bought the book. Daedal came up in my old (1946) Oxford Dictionary while I was looking for Daemon, I suspect the mysterious complexity or skill shows a link to Daedalus.

I feel I miss so much these days with limited and less frequent visits. Still, I take in what I can. That link could very well makes sense.

Yes, I'm sure I have mentioned her as well! O this was swell, I felt it so much. Perfect summing up last lines. She's one of the best, her spirit and everything, still gives me quake... And I loved the deadal-daemon comparison.
So much about this rings true, all of it. Thanks for sharing.

Looking over it again, I smile...
