Rhymeboy - You have captured the gravity of a feather with the poetic eloquence that only the imagination of a poet can produce. Hats off to your creativity and in addition.........I loved it!!! Namyh

started a topic A Brightly Colored Feather

    A Brightly Colored Feather

I love feather poems! I've written several already (i.e. 'Hope Falls From The Skies' But this one has a special meaning one of hope for the coming year! Hope you all like it!

One day ----- when I was walking
with an old ----- high school friend
    I saw a brightly ------ colored feather
being carried ------ by the wind

The feather was red ----- and blue and green
And parts were orange ----- like a carrot
It must be from ----- an exotic bird
    Perhaps ----- a talking parrot

The feather twirled ----- and swirled
And the wind ----- carried it high
    Lots of people -----watched it
as it ----- went sailing by

A Chinese man ---- was chasing it
An African ----- chased it too
A Nepalese man ----- had chased it
    He came from ----- Kathmandu

A Brazilian woman ------ was chasing it
A Mexican ------ chased it too
An American man ------- had chased it
    He came from ------ Kalamazoo!

Lots of people ------ were chasing it
as they watched it ------- twirl and swirl
Soon everybody ------ was chasing it
People from all ----- around the world

    The feather found
    the perfect spot
    In a very large
    abandoned lot

    The feather hovered
    in the air
    And all the people
    gathered there

    That feather
    made us stay
    And we all watched it
    twirl all day

    Some people
    knelt to pray
    And wondered why
    it behaved that way

    Who would ever think
    it took a feather
    To bring us all
