Cross chasms on a spider's web

in truth to find through flood and ebb

    gossamer threads of love entwine

when hearts of two as one combine

yet weave the waiting traps of fate

    if love metamorphose to hate

who pays the piper's doleful rate

    Usually - all parties involved.

Interesting how this title is 'hallmark' and your other poem is 'card'. Have you been perusing the greeting card section of your local stationery store?

No, but since cards cover every phase of life these days
it can't be long before they catch these traits.
Perhaps divorce cards aren't hypothetical ?
I notice I had a typo giving "food" for "flood,"
      maybe my tablet playing auto-replace.
I'm back on a proper computer today.
This piece grew out of the first line
which was from an article about Art Exhibitions.
"Card," grew from this piece and suggested its' linked title.
