    Saddle Sore

    seated hard in space between

what was and what will be

from bounce to bounce of happiness

    raced in sorrowed spins

    beginning new

    (past moments lost on longing)

cantered on, to what may be

    I have no horse

    but oh...

    I ride

Interesting take on this one Paula. I liked where you took us.

Thank you for taking a look and leaving a comment and a like Alex! When my folks were growing up they both rode the farm horses (my Dad preferred bareback as I recall). We haven't had horses for years, and I never learned to ride, but I was remembering their stories and tried to use that image to write about the grieving process and perseverance.
