  • Where Does The Water Come From?

    I know I haven't posted in a while . . . but here a nice little cheery poem . . . I hope you enjoy:

WHERE DOES THE WATER COME FROM?

Where does ------the water come from?
That becomes the rain ----- inside a cloud?
The cloud that makes ----- the lightning
and the thunder ------ sound so loud?

Where does ------ the water come from?
Water that falls ------ down from the sky
    thats moistens -------Mother Earth
    whenever ------- she is dry?

Where does ------- the water come from?
Water that falls ----- as tiny drops
    upon ----- the farmer's fields
    and waters all their crops

Where does ------- the water come from?
    Will someone please explain?
Where does the water come from
That falls as drops of rain?

Well, I asked ------ my Science Teacher
And this is what ----- was told to me
The rain comes ------- from drops of water
from the Ocean ------ and the Sea

Great read - cheery indeed! I especially liked the first verse where the various nouns tied together.

The simple meter is a great compliment to the poem's innocence. Made me smile.

Thank you for your warm welcome. Glad I smiled for my picture. And no, I am not rich though I was surprised to hear you think I was; I am working class Scottish and my name is very uninteresting here.

i liked your turns of phrases employed, that childlike wonder encapsulating 'what things are or aren't to us'. it makes me imagine possibilities opening up, a poetic take on the elemental workings, simplifjed with a cheery lil scene. i like your portrayal Rhymeboy, and thanks for sharing! peace...
