  • The Watcher

He looks down with a gargoyles smile

A lopsided leer, a grotesque grin

As the trick or treaters costumed parade

Meanders greedily from door to door

Light melts away as the darkness beckons

A rustle of leaves descends from above

    Accompanied by a eager figure

Clambering down the ivy clad tower

Cloistered In the moonlight’s silent shadows

    His greyness perfectly camouflaged

He traverses the town to his dinner date

His knock echoes demanding a response

Inside a mans body trudges to the door

Grabbing the candy treats paltry remains

Opens the door holding out sweet remnants

Bites the hand that feed, gargoyles first course
