    Seeing Eye to Eye

    Dumbfound, eyes bespeak language's desire,

    through unlearn'd pupils whisper metaphor,

find in twin dark stars perfections conspire

by velvet night to couch nature's bower,

    allot eternity to fleeting hour.

Sounds like I may not have been the only one with poetry on my mind last night.

After commenting on Alex's "Love Reflected" which is a 10 syllable/line sonnet (my lines usually being 6-8 syllables if not less) I trialed this line length to see if I could sustain it.

I've always found writing a sonnet a bit challenging. Alex makes it look easy with her beautiful style. I think this is an admirable trial - and quite enjoyed it.

This is quite lovely, Johntee. I’ve tried a couple sonnets, and will possibly try more, but I am much more comfortable in the four to eight syllable range.
Working...
