    Pre-history

Before the world was ruled by men

    Selene had three quarters then

full bodied, set by wax and wane,

as three in turn had Mother Earth,

    seasons being time given life

    bought by annual sacrifice,

    her wintered kingly consort death,

    a nullity to bring rebirth.

Sing-songy, kinda. And delightful to the ear. I liked this, fits in with my current studies of astrology and historical significance, as well as the mythologic lens which gives this particular poem a sort of autumn tinge, a sort of redrock darkness ... interesting lil meditation, I think!

      A mythographic gem.
