    Dysfunctional bonds

To you my Love was just a game
But I lost, lost you just the same
Life played out by the hands of gods
    Tied up in dysfunctional bonds

My heart was never meant to mend
Against your lovers take a stand
    Exploit my vulnerabilities
    looked past your infidelities

The scars you left kept me afraid
Afraid to love, my heart Betrayed
All that power you reveled in
Something like I had never seen

    Winning designed your destiny
Your joy came from torturing me
    On you I always depended
No one noticed my life ended

For a while I had to Pretend
That I was strong enough to bend
I didn’t know it at the time
But the sun would come back and shine

quite affecting. i know dysfunctional bonds; i think we all do.

in my frame of mind we could use these frictions to propel us into compassion.

i feel for you, if you're writing this in first person, but then i think you might be writing this ... in empathy with another?

its hard times, sometimes. ... best thing is to break the pattern, and relearn love. that's even harder.

    thanks for sharing!

That’s the field I work in and yes learning what healthy love is, is very difficult when you haven’t seen it growing up. Some people never learn what healthy love is like Amy Winehouse. Thank you for reading and commenting.
