    Cleaning Up History

For all the harps of St. Patrick's Day

that strain the red wine of history

    unsung in any plangent lay

I've yet to hear anyone say

that the Irish cleansed the Pictii.

For Scots, they were an Ulster clan

    invading like a creeping stain,

spreading Gaelic Erse over the land,

Four Centuries on, the final stand

put rulers to sword bloodily then,

cultural cleansing the norm as a plan,

pitched stelae to rivers in Moray.

All nations have histories to atone,

grasp the past with a bloodied Red Hand

so who can cast the blameless stone

And then some of those Scots came back to Ulster, all kirked up. Cuchullain met Calvin. Troubles ensued.

I had a rider to add but once again not on the USB
      so a partial reconstruction:-

In this case, it is my own history. Proddie Ulster on both sides. And then a lead role in colonial dispossession down under. I am of the demon breed.
