  • Don't Grow Up - It's a Trap

The illusion of the grown up world
    So limitless and free
    Is shattered when arrived upon
    By responsibility

Your time is spent on working
    Your money spent on debts
And whatever's left is spent upon
    Easing your tiredness

I hope that I am mostly wrong
    And life's your open door
But I speak as one who wished your wish
    And walked that road before

Too shortly you will find that youth
    Will meet an end, abrupt
But, until that time, I beg you child
    don't hurry to grow up

      The Fountain
      of Youth called failing
      powers to search the Caribbean.
      and Florida found prominence
in the works of Ponce de León

The lilt of the lines reminds me of Emily Dickinson. A finely cut gem, Biocide.
