  • Womans Work

A woman's work is never done

    Encircled by Jackal's smirk

    Lust for a feeding frenzy

    Drips from their savage maws

A woman's work is never done

    Soothsayers random wisdom

Laced with doom spiked with poison

    Consensus long forgotten

A woman's work is never done

    Shoulders laden with concern

    Yokes weighty burden hatches

    A scapegoats ignominy

A woman's work is never done

    She blindly seeks unknown quest

No clues or signs to direct

    Reaching pinnacle of what

Good Lord, an abstraction zone! But the way you throw around those logisms is quite zesty and bravura, Parkinsonspoet, and makes for an arresting statement.

Who are these women, Jon, as I've a feeling each stanza is reference to some specific figure?

Not only women, but men too, toil under and amidst barriers to fulfillment, unless joy is found in the work itself. Perhaps that's why we continue at our poetry?
