  • We are the Metal Lathe

Sometimes you have to Keep It Simple so here is my peck on the cheek enjoy !

We are the Metal Lathe ( c ) Glen Mitton 2018

It is argued the only machine that can fix itself Is the metal lathe
    That's how this machine behaves
    Self reliance by design
    A correlation we should align

Self reliance is defined : reliance on one's own efforts and abilities
    Nothing less is a disability
    Depend on the others mercy
You can figure your future is murky

Our mind set should be like that of the skilled machinist
Knowing the characteristics and the weakness
    Figuring the variables of approach
    Be careful not to encroach

They're are those who want to take away our independence
    Give us a limited existence
You have to work with what you have
    Otherwise you take a bath

Self Reliance , Maintain , Uphold
Words Not ambiguous but are solid and bold
The ability to work both the lateral and linear axis in unison
    Any problem can be overcome

Can I knock a hole in this,
      the lathe, as something kissed
      by eternity when
      3D printing gains
      more and more ubiquity
      with each succeeding day?

        It needn't be an either/or -
what's brewing now or came before.

Your message in this is well taken. I like the 'every man' feel of it and the implication to keep oneself sharp and focussed.
Just a minor FYI S4 should be 'there', not 'they're'

Thank you all for the comments. I apologize for my 5th grade spelling mistake . The short distant from my brain to my fingers is long enough to detour me from basic spelling skill I am embarrassed

Don't be. It happens to most all of us one time or another. Yesterday I texted my husband, intending you're, and the text came out 'your". He teasingly let me know I'd missed that obvious blip. You can go back and edit it you'd like, just use the buttons along the bottom of the post. Cheers!
