    To Grant and his Encouragement

What do I remember of him,

I here a year, he six months gone.

The scenic daily slide by rail,

    through commuting countryside

    Australia, an aboriginal ancestral land

    where billionfold corrupting man

    is but a peripheral invader,

a stain to be washed away

    by everwatchful nature.

In this his imaged complexity lingers on

    unpicked by the changing swarm

    that calls Rhymezone's body home,

yet I miss his improving tone, advise

    to work from commentary pieces

    poems, and in these lines

an hour and a half has flown

    swallowed up cup by coffee

cup and the conjurer’s wand, memory.

I share your sentiments Grant had a unique blend of knowledge, enthusiasm delivered in his own way. He is missed here

I've just spent ten minutes rolling back to find
some of Grant's pieces without success.
      "Workward" has been deleted
so memory seems all there is.

I do remember Grant saying that he was going to remove some of the pieces from the public forum so he could tweak to include them in a chapbook he was working on for a contest. I too, miss his wise and witty responses. Hoping he will return one day soon.

Now its my turn to be educated.
My only experience of the word
Chapbook is in reading of the
        16th Century publications
of biblical texts. Now I find
the word turns up in American
        poetic context.(and contest).
