  • Gone.

If I left today would you love me?
Would you think upon that small one,
    once crying in your arms?
Would you break to say, "Why run away?
I love you, 'spite the harms"?

If I left today would you miss me?
Would you even now I've gone?
If you knew, would you care
    'cause if I wasn't there,
you'd be free to slaughter the pawns.

Hello Darthvader, An unnerving piece, this one. Gone, indeed, in so many ways. Uncomfortable yet worth reading. You are in fine health, I hope, Tony.

I am, thank you. I trust you are the same?
And thank you, yes I suppose it is rather unnerving. Sometimes our poet minds stray far from our normal writes. This was one of those for me. Thank you so much for reading and commenting, though.

Oh, thank you, Alexandra. This piece was a strange one to write for me. Sometimes you aren't even aware of the extent of your anger or sorrow until you pick up a pen. Thanks so much for reading and commenting!

Spot on with this DV - particularly the comment about not even being aware until you start writing. Isn't is wonderfully cathartic? At least most of the time?

I have not read your words in a long while, but your words are still hauntingly beautiful .
