    Written in blood

These empty sad rooms echo of the people who once lived here

Elegant tattered curtains swaying from the cold wintry drafts

Happy Light filtering warmly through the cracks so very clear

Displaying dancing dust particles covering handmade crafts

Oh the love and laughter these walls and floors once embraced and felt

Children’s giggles from running and playing in delightful chaos

Water stained floors from snowy puddles brought in then slowly melt

Like many pages in a book that’s what this house said to us

But in a small room towards the back, secluded from the rest

A room sparsely furnished without any sign of elegance

Had a wall with a written plea for help there in blood confessed

Evoked such a chill as we felt the desperate sense of helplessness

A great story here, AlexandratheLate I must say that 'Happy Light' filtering was an incredible pairing of words.... it instantly took me to the room and I felt the Happy Light!

Excellent stage setting on this - I almost feel like it's a prelude to an even larger story. Am I right? Or do we just let our imaginations grip us with that ending?

      If walls could tell stories!
      Like a previous piece
      on an upstate castle
      this feels like
      somewhere
      you've
      been.

Sprawling, voluminous, and a nice end cap of Such a stirring vibration. Thanks for sharing, loved the dancing language and all of it, really!

I was going to comment on how I love going through old homes, the nostalgic places where grandparents and great-grandparents grew up... I love tapping into the emotions evoked by such places... and then I got to your final two lines. CREEPY!!! (And, I got myself right back out the door!)
